Current undergraduate students, please contact us using this UCLA Message Center link for questions not addressed on our website. Non-UCLA students, please contact us using this UCLA Message Center link for questions regarding undergraduate matters that are not addressed on our website. Please note: Due to the high number of messages during the health crisis, allow up to 5-7 business days for a response. Please DO NOT start multiple cases for the same issue in hopes of expediting a response – it will only delay us further. Please use one of the links above to communicate. For the topic of your message please choose one of the “Academic Advising: Statistics” options that appear in the drop-down menu.
Message Center – This will remain the primary mode of communication between students and the Undergraduate Student Advisor. Please continue to send all major/minor declaration requests, enrollment inquiries and requests, and other general inquiries and requests via MC. Your request will be addressed in the order received. The quoted response time is 5-7 days, but responses typically take no longer than 2 business days max.
Meetings by Appointment – We will continue taking appointments for 15-min Zoom meetings on Wednesday mornings here. This seems to have been successful for the past few months so we’ll continue to offer this as long as students want it. We will also begin taking appointments for in-person meetings on Wednesdays and Thursdays as well, if necessary and if students request it. Please request an appointment via Message Center. (IMPORTANT: You must be logged in to your @g.ucla.edu account to access the appointment request form.) Please note that successful submission of an appointment request is NOT a confirmation of the appointment. The Advisor will reach out via email to officially confirm.
Walk-ins – To prevent crowding in our hallways and promote social distancing, we will be changing our walk-in advising. All inquiries regarding course enrollment, majors/minors declaration, or major/minor general interest requests should be sent via Message Center. Students with inquiries which do not fall under those categories may try dropping by the Statistics Student Affairs Office for in-person counseling on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but a meeting is not always guaranteed depending on when a student visits. If you’d like to meet in-person, we encourage you to request an appointment via Message Center.
You may email email@example.com for your administrative needs or to schedule zoom appointments as needed during the week. You are also welcome to schedule in-person appointments (by email) beginning on 9/27 onward on Mondays & Tuesdays and occasional Fridays. If you happen to have an emergency situation, you may try calling 310-825-4843 (Mondays, Tuesdays, and every other Friday) or feel free to drop in when the door is open and there are no other meetings already in-session. For all your scheduled & urgent in-person meetings, please be prepared to show your completion of the daily symptom monitoring survey which can be found at this webpage: https://covid-19.ucla.edu/
These temporary measures will be reassessed as the pandemic situation progresses.
